About This Project

Jewish Arts was delighted to welcome to VJs one of Australia’s most distinctive musical voices, award-winning composer and pianist Professor Yitzhak Yedid. Note the matineé performance time of 3pm.
Born in Jerusalem and now based in Australia, Yedid is internationally recognised for his extraordinary ability to weave together musical worlds. His work draws on Arabic and Jewish traditions, improvisation, jazz, and contemporary Western classical music to create soundscapes of rare depth and emotional power. His compositions have been performed worldwide and honoured with major awards, including the prestigious Azrieli Music Prize for Jewish Music in Canada. Yedid has performed at leading venues such as New York’s Lincoln Center and Boston’s Jordan Hall, and has released twelve acclaimed albums on major international labels. As both a virtuoso pianist and an imaginative composer, his performances are deeply engaging.
This promises to be a compelling evening of artistry and musical storytelling.
