About This Project
We launched the 2025 Music @ VJs program with a stellar act featuring Simon Tedeschi (piano) and Mat Jodrell (trumpet).

The duo provided a memorable concert to a full house and wild enthusiasm.
Simon brings a strong classical sensibility to improvisation, and an eclectic approach to repertoire from Rachmaninoff to Gershwin, Mozart to Mussorgsky. He has been hailed as one of the best artists in the world. Mat has been described as one of the most exciting voices in jazz today, with a legendary versatility across a range of styles. He is back in Australia after 8 years in New York, where he performed with jazz luminaries and taught at the prestigious Juilliard School of Music.
Together they perform jazz with a twist, exploring the blues and the immense depth of American music across the 20th century.
